Aftercare
Botox/Dysport
- Do not lay flat for the next 4 hours, try to stay upright
- Avoid exercising heavily for 24 hours after injection
- No hot tubs, saunas, tanning beds, massages and facials for 24 hours post injection
- Do not touch, rub, exfoliate or put any pressure on the injection sites for 24 hours
- Do not wear headbands or hats that put pressure on the injection area for 24 hours
- You can apply makeup 4 hours post injection, just make sure to use clean hands and brushes to avoid infection
- You can wash your face and put moisturizer/makeup on just don’t exfoliate hard or put heavy pressure on the injection sites while applying products
- You may have small red bumps at the injection points, they will be gone within 30-60 minutes
- There is a slight chance of bruising, if bruising occurs they are usually minimal and are temporary
- Some people experience a slight headache after injection, it is okay to take Tylenol if this occurs

BotoxStarts working within 5-7 days and shows full treatment results in 2 weeks. Clients will not be treated in the same treatment area until after the 2 week period.

DysportStarts working within 3-5 days and shows full treatment results in 2 weeks. Clients will not be treated in the same treatment area until after the 2 week period.
Filler

Ice can be applied to treatment area for comfort and to decrease swelling, apply 20 minutes every hour. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) or Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil) can be taken to help with soreness post injection . 25-50mg of Benadryl can be taken to help redness, swelling, or itching. Keep in mind Benadryl can make you sleepy

Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours post injection, if lips are treated avoid straws for 24 hours

Do not apply any make-up or moisturizer to the treated area for 6 hours after injection. After the 6 hours, when applying makeup do so gently with clean brushes and hands

Avoid direct sunlight for long hours, extreme hot or extreme cold until swelling and redness subsides(ex: hot tubs, saunas, tanning beds, and sun tanning)

Sleep with your head elevated with multiple pillows to help decrease swelling

Avoid facials, massages, or cosmetic treatments on treatment area for 2 weeks post injection

Product is moldable for up to 2 weeks, be careful not to put heavy pressure on the treatment area

Swelling and bruising can occur for up to two weeks. Full treatment results may not appear for twofull weeks, avoid getting filler in that area for that time

Bumps, lumps, or irregular asymmetries may appear during the two week healing period.After two weeks lumps and bumps may be felt but should not be visible
Please contact injector immediately if these occur:
- If the area appears red, hot to touch, and “angry” looking
- EXTREME amounts of pain that over the counter pain medicine does not alleviate
- If the area has blue, web-like tinting under the skin where injections were placed
- If discolored blotchy patches in areas that were not injected appear
- If injection areas are blanching (when blood does not return to the area or is sluggish when pressure is applied)
Kybella

Do NOT massage, or manipulate the treatment area

Ice the treated areas for the next 24 hours. Place the icepack on the area for 20 minutes and remove the ice pack for 20 minutes. Continue this pattern for 24 hours

Apply (over the counter) Arnica gel to the treatment area to help decrease the bruising, swelling, and discomfort

Take (over the counter) acetaminophen and/or pain reliever if needed to decrease post treatment discomfort

Sleep on your back and keep your head elevated with 2-3 pillows for the next 3- 5 days after treatment

Drink plenty of water and fluids after treatment

Avoid vigorous exercise, sun and heat exposure for 3-5 days after treatment

Avoid Aspirin, Motrin, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week after treatment. These items may increase bleeding and bruising

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplements, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods and cigarettes 24-48 hours after your treatment. These items may contribute to increased swelling or irritation

Avoid cosmetic treatments such as injectables, laser, ultrasound, peels, facials or micro-dermabrasion to the Kybella treatment area

It is absolutely normal to feel and see mild to moderate swelling, numbness, hardness to touch, tingling, redness, and tenderness at the site of injections and they can last up to 6-8 weeks. Most swelling will begin to improve after day 5

Please report to The Youth Injector immediately if you develop an asymmetric smile or facial muscle weakness, skin ulceration in the treatment area, difficulty swallowing, or if any existing symptom worsens
